My Martial Arts Journey: From Traditional Roots to Non-Classical Innovation
My name is John Bourne, and my martial arts journey began in 1992 with Kempo Karate. Over the years, I've explored various disciplines, including Tai Chi, JKD Concepts, and Wing Chun. However, it wasn't until 2005 that I encountered something truly transformative.
During a seminar in London, I met Jesse Glover, the founder of Non-Classical Gung Fu (NCGF), and his students. Their approach was unlike anything I'd experienced before—practical, direct, and deeply rooted in real-world application. This encounter shifted my perspective on martial arts forever.
Since then, I've had the privilege of training under one of the most respected figures in the field, Pierre Hartmann. These experiences have not only honed my skills but have also deepened my understanding of martial arts as a lifelong journey of growth and self-discovery.
